For many years people going abroad from the north or midlands have invariably used Manchester airport if they were venturing abroad due to the lack of alternative airports and a wider selection of destinations. But I must admit I do enjoy it, although I have found that airport parking East Midlands and Birmingham airport parking to be generally cheaper than parking at Manchester airport. On top of cheaper airport parking, less travelling costs. Overall it just seems a lot less stressful experience.

There are really only 2 things why I would favour Manchester airport over either Birmingham or East Midlands airport. One would be the timing of the flight back, not keen on getting back late in the day or at night which means you spent most of your last day hanging around, which makes for a long day with a drive home after your flight. The second reason is if the price of the flight was much cheaper.
